Pretty good day at the fleamarket
on: August 05, 2013, 01:38:30 AM
got an early start today as i was finally off on a sunday.  went to a stall and saw a wenger soft touch evo 14 and a 4 inch cold steel ti lite zytel version.  the guy wanted stupid prices on both so we left and came back with 25US in hand and said we'll take them both.  needless to say we left with them.  the wenger is practically new and those soft touch scales are really nice, everything is sharp and seemed unused.  the cold steel on the other hand got a make over and im really digging the stiletto look. there was rust which i cleaned up and it is missing the thumb stud.  its a cool looking 50's style knife at a good price.
i also got another Gshock 7700 for $5US this time and its in great condition.  over all a pretty good day at the fleamarket tho not a multi to be seen.

few more pictures.  the blade is near perfectly centered and very smooth opening.  there are a few nicks in the blade but it shouldn't be to tough to fix.  it can open similar to a emerson, while pulling out of your pocket it catches your pocket and bang its deployed.

Thanks guys,

i was stoked on the Gshock big time at $5us.  the cold steel look grimey and in some of the pictures you can see the rust. i figured if i could clean it up it would make a fun stiletto style knife even if it was missing a thumb stud. heck for $12.50us it was worth seeing what i could do.  the wenger was an easy grab at $12.50.

Nice finds!  There's never anything but cheap Chinese knockoffs at my local flea markets... and that's if I'm lucky.   ::)

Nice scores there Aloha :tu:  The Wenger Evo 14 was one of the Wenger SAKs I was considering before I decided in the EvoGrip 16.  I liked the shape of the knife on it.

it is a nice blade shape and the scissors on this a perfect.  figured wenger at this point is gonna be a good buy.  my friend spotted it quick and loved the soft touch big time.

Thanks again everyone it was a good day tho I was hoping to find some MTs and of all things a good vise grips but alas none were to be found.  im heading back next sunday and may even take a trip to a larger one close by.

Nice scores!  The cold steel looks like it could be a 'fighting' knife, quick deployment, possible dual edge/pointy front geometry for cut and stab, and dual finger guard.  :duel:

yeah this style of knife "stiletto" is definitely a stabbing blade. Stiletto coming from Latin stilus
( coming from wiki, I am not this knowledgeable ) is an offensive weapon for sure and I like the idea of it as a one time side arm of knights used as a coup de grace weapon.
I dig the sorted history behind this style of knife as well as the fighting heritage.
It certainly is a fast deployed blade utilizing the quillion much like the emerson wave feature upon exiting the pocket blade its deployed.  mine was missing the thumb stud but its fine and I can use the quillion to deploy the blade easily.  I can see what you mean the flipper and quillion act as guards of sorts but I wont be knife fighting anytime soon haha. im super happy with this knife and love the dark past of this stiletto style.

Salamat goat666,

I am really loving this stiletto style knife it has an "edgy" appeal.  haha
the gshock has quite a bit of functions so I hope the battery lasts a while.  not a bad day at all tho I was bummed no MTs at all.
