It looks like there's some rust at the pivot so it might need a full disassemble, what should I use to get the rust off?

You can use your finger or a rag to remove the rust with the baking soda. Don't be shy with the baking soda. You can just wash it all off after your done. After the baking soda I normally clean it again with hot water and dish soap. Dry with paper towels and hit it with the air compressor (if you have one) and let it air dry. Just how I do things. Hope this helps.
