Gingrich tactical pen secret compartment ideas

I happily received my Gingrich tactical pen today. It has been great so far. It is very robust, has a pocket clip, and takes the common and great to write with fisher space pen refills. The one I received is the version with the gun sight adjustment tool on the back. There is also a very similar one with a straight screwdriver in place of the sight adjustment tool. As I don't own a gun, when I first got the pen I thought the screwdriver version would be more useful. Then just now I got an idea. I took out a piece of SOL tinder quik and cut it in half. It fit perfectly in the sight adjustment tool.


As I already have several straight drivers in my EDC I'm glad the MTO 7th anniversary giveaway I got the pen from had the sight tool version. So now I'm wondering what else I could hide in this little compartment? Anyone got any ideas?

Really, honestly, those numbers don't mean so much to me...    But you're the one here that can try

Ok generic Advil sized pill didn't fit

But my allergy pills I take in spring and fall (Zyrtec) fit with some clearance!

So in allergy season I will carry an extra allergy pill in there. Thanks enki_ck!

If one wanted to cut above the threads and remove the adjustment tool it would make the compartment much larger. I wouldn't do this though, I would feel like I was defacing the pen.

Dollar test failed, next a bandaid!

An average sized bandaid is close to fitting but the white padded part makes it slightly too thick when rolled up. The tiny round type of bandaid fits very well though and is more useful on a daily basis than tinder.

I could do a surprising amount of damage with the C4 I could stash in here! I thought about a ferro rod but I don't think the length is enough.

If I were me...I'd mod it with a steel insert with a ramped end so I could pry stuff with it. I'd have to turn down the sight tool notches and the JB weld a new thing in.

Well if you want to pry there is a similar version with a flat driver instead of sight adjustment tool. (The bottom one in this picture)

•small screw
•3 watch battery cells
•SOL tinder quik
•Small bandaid

I vote allergy pill. It's the thing you'll most likely need out of the bunch. Well except the band aid but that's better stored in the wallet.

Is there any clearance the other side of the closed bottom? If so, how about drilling a small hole, and putting in a mini Victorinox eye glasses driver with the driver downwards? (NOTE: I've not checked dimensions to see if the handle end would fit)
