Powerfix Folding Safety Blade
on: August 09, 2013, 02:32:46 PM
This is it. 7€, model no Z30817.
Big, rugged, both blades locking, seath with 10 spare double blades. Unknown steel (non inoxydable I presume).
It belongs to a hard worker's tool box. Good for wall to wall carpets.

You don't see too many utility/regular bladed combos out there. Nice find.
A little Leatherman information.

Crazy coincidence... I just saw a utility knife/regular knife combo tool at Shopko yesterday. Pretty sure it was a Stanley.

Sorry, I didn't take a pic

I was close to buying one but teh fact that i own a few utility blades and a few folders (and my wife was with me at LIDL) stopped me. I bought teh battery operated soldering iron instead  :D

I've seen that Stanley one as well, looks pretty good.  In fact here in the UK "Stanley" is so strongly associated with utility knives they are almost always referred to as "Stanley" knives, no matter who actually made the knife.

Well, it looked like a solid tool. It just struck me as strange that they would pair a utility knife with (drumroll) another knife!

At any rate, it sounds like Stanley can save their marketing dollars in the UK.

Safety blades are thin and short. A real knife is needed many times.
