Random custom SAK question.
on: August 11, 2013, 06:09:52 AM
I was fiddling with a Climber I did some restoration on for my brother, and was appreciating the slimness of it, which got me thinking:

Is this hypothetical build even possible? Large blade/ combo tool, scissors, back spring Phillips. That's it. No openers, just the two layers. Probably with Alox scales.

I lack the ability to try and build it myself, and wouldn't be worth having Syph or someone build it for me, just more of a brainstorm thing that I think could be nice.

EDIT: Forgot Alox wouldn't work with the Phillips. Plus scales then lol.

One of the easier mods I think. Just replacing the corkscrew on a Vic Compact with a Phillips. We have a how to on that here somewhere.

For sure, changing the back tool of a compact is the way to go.  I did it on an 84mm SAK before and its quite straight forward.

I don't know how I didn't think of the compact

Normally I'm a corkscrew guy only because as a glasses wearer I feel the mini-driver is a necessity, but in this case I'd have to go Phillips since I'd have to choose between the two.
