Just another 75mm Alox :)
on: August 13, 2013, 06:44:52 PM

Ok here is the normal run of Alox with the new addition

Soldier /Pioneer
Cadet
84mm Sentry
75mm ????????????
58mm Alox Classic

I may have just missed them but I have not seen this before

The blade is stamped Elinox with the crossbow

And the 204 is deep branded into the Alox

No real clues I am afraid it was sold as a watch knife

maybe a limited edition watch with the number on a matching knife but why 75mm ??

oh not sure if this will help but it is a very cute little knife :)

I almost did not post it just in case someone is out there with a full set of alox now pulling their hair out :)

The one blade version is the 'Beginner' (marked Elinox). The two blade version is the 'Student' (marked Victorinox). Don't have any other info on them.

Smartknives listed both of them, but only has a photo of a plastic-handled Beginner. I've seen info on them somewhere else, but can't recall where.

The bottom photo is an assortment of 75mm Vics.

There's also the three blade 75mm Accountant, with long manicure blade (there's also an 84mm version). Their handle shape is slightly different from the one and two blade models. Don't have any info on other versions, but with Victorinox you can never be sure.

I've also seen a smaller line - 68.5mm - of the same. Here's picture of an Accountant version of this I ran across years ago. I've never been able to find more into on it. See below.

Never seen one like that before. Nice score!

All of mine are definitely 75mm.

Just a general question is there enough variation in 75mm knives to justify a section in SAKWIKI ?

I know it would be a lot of work but there does seem to be quite a few out there

Not sure. We have them in the 74mm section now with a remark that it's actually a 75mm frame. I've added the Student and the Beginner mentioned before to the wiki with the information and pictures provided by Karl (ColoSwiss). We currently only have three 75mm models listed in the wiki so that doesn't really justify a section but if enough models should later be added (don't know how many there actually are) it would only require a little work to extract those to a separate 75mm list.

There has been a 75mm Gallery on SAKwiki for some time.  It can be accessed through either the 'Other' pic/gallery link, or by the 'Other' size link and then select 75mm.  It does not have all the variations that are known, but one day I hope to add a bunch more. Of course some of the images in this thread could be added.

Minor problem with the 75mm gallery. The first two shots are of 84mm Secretaries. Here's another shot of 75mms (Accountants) that can be added.

Thanks, they were moved from the 74mm gallery so they must have been put there by mistake. Moved to 84mm.

I've not been following this thread but I don't remember the name Accountant applying to any model other than the MOP version. Do we have some additional information about t h at name?

I have the same question about the Student, although that one I remember applying to Stainless steel and maybe cellidor.

Going through my notes I have the 3-blade MOP listed as Accountant and Pocket Pal. Have numbers for some of the other handle variations, but no other names.

Have no names info at all in my notes for the Beginner and Student, but use those names in my spread sheet for the checkered alox versions. Vaguely recall coming up with the names someplace, but can't remember where.

In the SAKwiki write-ups for the Beginner and Student its mentioned that the names may not apply to all versions. Maybe need to add something similar for the Accountant. Until different names are verified I'd say keep these names as useful general identifiers.
