I like how you've got that lanyard on the Soldier. It looks like it might protect the blade from whacking directly into the lanyard loop accidentally. (I've notched mine repeatedly that way and had to re-establish the edge)

I for one am suprised how much I use my Soldier for each day at work.Even though I carry a Rescue and a Swisstool I reach for my SI the most.I yanked the bail off of mine,it rides a bit nicer in the pocket.

It's weird how much the bail divides people so much , it does seem you either love them or hate them

I am not down on the bail at all.For what I envision the uses of the SI the bail is more of a hinderance.I do like the option of bail or no bail.Even though a person has to be a bit careful closing up shop so to speak.

You'd think I would learn, but no. Something about my standard fold-the-knife-against-the-back-of-my-pants routine always seems to leave the bail flipped over in front of the blade as it closes. 

I wish there was an easy way to limit the travel of the bail so it wouldn't get in the way.

Well I dont want to hijack this thread but since you asked  That black lump you see is called Butyl , its like black blue tack but worse  Its put in a machine and heated to 125c then squirted out at 100 Bar  It sticks like **** to a blanket and is used as a primary seal in double glazing . I'm using my Wenger SI to remove bits of cardboard that are stuck to the slug before I load it into the machine .

So now you know

100bar is very very dangerous Last year we got told about superheated steam and how it has been responsible for some nasty injuries, simply cutting through flesh and bone not something i'd want to mess with!

I've heard lots of horror stories of early locomotives doing horrible things to the engineer and fireman, when the boiler sprung a leak
