Remove the ink cartridge from a fat pen, then carry your screwdriver bits inside the pen body.

Slip a piece of Romex cable insulation over your Util-Key to prevent it from opening by accident.   I did this after my wife's Util-Key dropped off her key ring into the snow.

Carry your spare cash inside a plastic badge holder.  It lies flatter in your pocket than a money clip and prevents the bills from curling up.

Ikea suspension clips.

:tu: I salvaged a few carton box staples, aspiring to make something similar. There will be some filing of edges done during the process. What IKEA item is that, please?

That's something you can pick up for free (over here) in order to help carrying packages tied together with string, similar to what the parcel hook is for, but as some sort of handle.

Or use clothes hangers. The ones I use (seen in some of my pics in silver) are those from the dry cleaner's.

True but they're too thick for my liking. I don't use a pocket clip often and I want them as discreet as possible. It's why I salvaged the staplers, they're flat are have a copper coating that is less reflective/eye-catching than silver  ;)

I'm glad to see this thread getting bumped! We need more/better ways to reduce landfills and the effects of "us" on this earth.

When I go for a bike ride, I put my cell phone in a plastic ziplock bag and repeatedly use the same one.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Carrying my Sportsman again today, with the suspension clip. Similar to the one shown by detron. The spring is from an old toner recipient.

On the right is the original picture hook. Removed the lower part with the hole, small bending of the top.

I reused quite a bit of wood for a fence. It was going to be thrown away and it was already treated. Free is always good.

I've put more up now but this is the general idea.

A few things you can do to solve this problem:
1. Add a mini gate clip to the P-7 like the pic below, so you can switch it around between different tool.

2. Get a whole bunch P-7 knock off for $1 each.

I tried the first one but it changes the way the keyring rides in my pocket, which bugs me!  :)  I went ahead and ordered a couple of the knockoff ones.

Thanks for the link!  I never knew they were around as knockoffs and that cheap!  Heck I think it was like $12 or so for my P-7 clip!   :tu:

Great thread idea. I recycle old dirty lanyards and remove the clip so my daughter can make belt danglers from paracord.

Whenever I have to discard an old (back) pack, i try to save clasps and buckles and webbing if any reasonable lengths are there.
Helped me repair and mod some other bags and packs over time.
the chin strap locks from Motorcycle helmets are nice, too.
