How many texts you send a month?

I usually do 1000-1500 a month. My daughters, on the other hand, up to 20k a month each. Thankful for unlimited texting!¡!

When my middle daughter had a Blackberry, she could text with the phone in her pocket. I have no idea how you could send that many text in a month but it happens regularly. Yeah,

Based on those figures, your daughters send more texts in a couple of hours than I do in a month!

I used to send more than I now do when I was at university, but even then I emailed and phoned more.
I'll usually phone or use the radio at work unless its something really short and non-urgent, at home I email more because I can do that anywhere in my house on any device but I can only text from upstairs on one device.

i have an allowance of 300 txt per month, even at busy times (xmas etc) i never get even close to that !
my Dad , who is 75, loves texting ! BUT the dumb old smurf also thinks he's cool, hip and groovy , it can take a while to decode what he's written because he insists on "doin txt spk, 2 sav time m8 "  it drives me mad

It's not like it takes that much longer to use proper spelling and punctuation in your messages.

That's the way my father texts and its annoying as anything, especially as he'd written proper reports for the military for 30 years and he's the one that drilled proper spelling and grammar in to me when I was young.  He's part of the reason I studied journalism and why to this day bad spelling, grammar and punctuation drive me up the frigging wall. 

Still, the man survived being a combat engineer attached to the Van Doos during the FLQ crisis, dug more latrines than anyone else I know and retired at the top of his game, so I guess he's earned a few typos!

I prefer texting to calling.. I send maybe 500 monthly. I used to work in cell phones and I've heard of young girls sending 30K plus. I think 7K is still a lot, but I think you could send more.

For me its the opposite, I prefer a quick call to a text, but generally prefer email.

If I need to get something done I'll call.
If it's just a snippet of information (I've just order that extension lead you asked for) then I'll text.

If I'm controlling one of our remote controlled bits of machinery I'll text. Pump on, pump off, shut up with the alarm, I've dealt with it etc...

Last month I sent 18 texts on my personal phone, and 12 on my works phone. If people try starting a text conversation with me, I either phone them or ignore them depending who it is.

I certainly wouldn't get in to a conversation, but they're good when people can't talk or for non-urgent things IME. And our farm's (made by me) alarm system is all text based which takes quite a few up. We've got three modems on things, two pumps and the alarm. Having a conversation with a "thing" via text is a lot easier than trying to talk to it!

I definitely prefer to text.  No matter if I'm at work or at home, I'm extremely busy and I never feel like talking.  At work I have to babysit 7-10 grown men and make sure they are productive, at home I take care of my 5 year old and 19 month old.  Guess who listens better!  There is usually so much noise around me that a phone conversation is impossible.  I would say I average around 2,500 texts monthly at this point.

my text message count is about 150 per month.
I use text mainly to let people know about something that I don't expect them to reply to (I am running late...., The meeting is postponed ... Please don't forget to pack the yellow shirt in the luggage ...).
