Thanks for the link, Grant!
Keep in mind that the USD $150 is very flexible and was based on a recent eBay sale of the same tool in "used" condition. I am going to sell it to the forum member with the best offer. If somebody says $150, it is theirs... But barring that.. Make me an offer. I'm shipping a tool to you already anyway.
I don't plan on offering it anywhere but here. I want it to go to a good home. It was a gift that I dropped in a drawer. Got it out to play with on occasion. If it doesn't find a home here in a collection, it'll just go back in the drawer. I like users, and while neat, this one doesn't make EDC for me.
Amendment to the above description:
Upon taking it out and looking it over, it has some minor issues. All are cosmetic and not the product of use.
-small blemish on the lower half of the chassis. I tried to polish it out. From sitting in storage I suppose.
-similar small blemish on bottom side of chassis.
-marks on tools from being opened and closed.
-the saw and pliers head are both made from a different steel than the rest and are discolored slightly.
-the sheath Velcro was never stitched right. That's how I got it.
Please look at the pics and you'll see what I mean.
That said, the blade has a factory edge (IE: edgy and a little dull) and has never been used or sharpened. The Phillips driver has never been used and the fins are pristine. The jaws of the pliers are perfect and have never seen use. Same goes for all the tools. The flat driver has always had some marks on it, but has never turned a screw. The sheath, aside from the Velcro issue, is perfect and clean.
Anything wrong with this tool is entirely from me opening and closing it, and from being in storage. So it is essentially new old stock.
I polished the bit of rust off the blemishes, cleaned her up with a toothbrush and WD40, sprayed the whole thing down with more WD40, and then polished it up with a microfiber cloth.
It is ready for it's new home.
Cheers!
G.
