Is this really a ST300?
on: September 03, 2013, 09:22:56 PM
Just saw something interesting on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Leatherman-Super-Tool-300-19-Piece-Carabiner-Tool-/221277789800

I can't see the tool well enough to find any glaring flaws, but I have never seen packaging like that from LTG. I have seen similar packaging on confirmed fakes.

Looks pretty legit. Packaging is odd but the tool looks real to me.

I saw carabiner listed on a tool at a local store also. Looked to me like the sidekick carabiner was included with the super tool 300. Anyone else notice this?

I initially figured as much there is a picture of the carabiner tool pictured on the backside.  this just looked odd to me that all.

I saw one at a hardware store that came with the carabiner.  it is the one from the sidekick.
If I can help, let me know

Looks to me that it's real but definatly not in the original packaging and the tool is in backward. The tools on the right reflect what's actually the left side tools (re. the Super Tool 300 picture on the LTG site). If it were in the packaging correctly, the Phillips screwdriver and can opener would be on the other side. A very bad packaging job IMO. Regardless of the carabiner (which it doesn't appear to have) I wouldn't buy it.

I purchased a LM Super Tool 300 about 3 weeks ago at Lowes, came in that packaging with a Carabiner. Only thing different was a black and yellow cardboard wrapped around it.
