Show Your Alox Users
on: August 07, 2013, 06:13:01 PM
I know a lot of people collect Alox...I used to my self ;) but then had to sell most of my collection due to money troubles
I kept only the users as I love Alox more than the regular plastic scaled SAK's :)

My users left to right...
City Pioneer made for me by harryf3 (Aris) I recently ground the keyring off, I like a lanyard but find it can dig in the hand :-\
07 Soldier
Old Cross Electrician
Old Cross Pioneer with an 85 Soldier blade, I've left the keyring on this as it's a vintage brass liner

I also have a regular Farmer in a bug out kit and a regular Pioneer that lives in the kitchen on can opening duty :D
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Nice :tu:
I've had quite a few blue Farmers but could never bring myself to use them and have sold them on ::)
Its a great shade of blue and I would love a hard anodised version

I only have one Alox SAK, my Mechaneer.  It's still young, so no real worn look to the scales, but I hope to get there eventually ;)  I think the worn look on black scales is really 8)  Can't post a pic right now, but will later.

Anyway ... Not much wear on this as it's not a combo often carried

The silver SI and Cadet get carried quite often, the black Cadet occasionally and very rarely with other stuff next to it, and the Classic got retired/replaced with a Rambler on the keyring now.

Here is my collection:

Shown are Bantams, Classics, Vagabonds, Farmers, Cadets, Pioneers, a Micro-Farmer, a Cadet Plus and a Wenger Soldier in different colors.

They don´t look like users but that is simply because I usually carry them in pouches or alone in a pocket.  ;)

Please elaborate. tom.

A few weeks ago I was at the local flea market and saw this knife on a table.  When I picked it up to take a look, the guy who was running the table promptly told me that it was a fake, and that real Swiss Army Knives don't have metal handles.  I got it from him for $5.  It's 100% a real Wenger SI, with no date on the tang.  It's practically brand new, the only sign of use was a tiny nick on the blade from hitting the bail.   :tu:  That's the sort of "fake" I'd be more than happy to buy any day.  :)

I tried to take a few pictures, but Some aren't worn enough to tell in the picture and others I just cant get the lighting right. I will mess around some more and try to get a few. If not I will just post a picture of the aloxes I have in my EDC rotation.
