Does anyone have one of these? They don't show up in Vic's site. Discontinued?...

The Victorinox Whistle has been out of production for a number of years.

Wenger at one time produced a series of knives featuring a swing-out plastic whistle, most of which had Survivor or Signal in the name. Also long gone.

Both whistles are definately loud.

Slightly related: I discovered a while back, if you blow across the bit holder of the Swisstool Plus bit wrench, like you would a flute or bottle, then it makes a really REALLY loud, shrill whistle. I actually can't stand doing it, it gives me a headache instantly. I imagine in a pinch it'd be a great emergency whistle.

I love the Vic whistle knife. It is quite loud when you really blow it.
I got one for my wife, it's great for hailing taxis.
According to this link
http://www.davison.com/s_experience/ss_whistleknife.html
it was invented by a US company to provide Victorinox with a simple cheap personal alarm.
One scale is a bit thick though.
