The oht had a pretty easy day today.

I used it to clip a few wires and the serrated blade to cut some drain house but I didn't get any pics its to dark under houses to get a good one.

I did get a pic of putting a plate back on my work truck.

and here's the requested pic for  50ft-trad

surprisingly the oht's saw is shorter than a 84mm wengers by a centimeter or 2
the Vic saw is quite a bit longer.

edit

saw thoughts

I would have never thought the oht's saw was a little shorter than a standard wenger

It's never felt like it was to short when I've used it.

the handle is comfortable to use / easy to grip and hold when sawing.

I'd prefer a replaceable blade but the saw it has works and seems to stay sharp .

one hand opening kicks ass :tu:

One of my (and other people's) criticisms has fell on the shortness of the blade and saw, although in truth I have personally found the short blade on the MP700 to be perfectly adequate for many (urban) chores. We can see the length is rather stubby compared to the body of the tool, but is there any chance of comparison pics to the length of the blade & saw on a 91mm Vic and 85mm Wenger please anyone?

The Blades might be a little short, but they work rather well and sometimes you just need a small blade to get into tight places. As for the saw,  it is a beast. I tend carry a regular blade with my multi and it seens like the LOHT was made to compliment a dedicated knife.

Thanks for that JA  :tu:

That saw is actually even shorter than I though  :o :o BUT at least it's outboard on this tool, which means that more of the blade is usable (unlike the Rebar / ST300 etc)

But it's tiny!  >:D All this praise for such a small saw  :P It must be like the vicious bunny in The Holy Grail  :D

Many thanks for the pics and comments guys, you've convinced me it's really not for me (thank you :D) but I'm very glad it's working so well for you two  :tu: :salute:

I just used the oht to pry open 5 locked mailboxes that where missing keys

the flat driver worked to get them open with no damage to the tool.

the only other tool I've used to pry them open was the crate opener on a swisstool.

this is one tough leatherman.

I used a lot of force /border line abuse/
ive bent cheap screwdrivers trying to do the same thing.

Shouldn't all Leatherman's be tough?

very true they should be.

some though are not

but I do think as long as i use the right tool for the right job i shouldn't break one. Pushing a tool over its limitations leads to broken tools.

Todays' oht work

I was putting in ac again on a few homes today.

here's what I used the oht for.

the first time I used it this morning was getting a screw out that I couldn't get at with the drill/driver

I needed to get a pic of this task I usually do under houses.

I don't try bring my phone with me anymore.

I'm on my 3rd Nokia this year already  :o

cutting the clear rubber hose I use for drainage

tightening a plastic cap on copper tubing for ac refrigerant. I put these little caps on and take them off each line I install. Two lines per ac unit. one feed one return.
I also usually do this under the home but I'm trying to get a decent pic of each tool in use. I'm a nerd  >:D

 pocket dump
the oht does all the work. I carry the rest because I'd miss it.
ok I need the light too lol

Has the length of the Phillips driver hindered you in use so far? Any changes you wish for except the obvious one - put a file on it.

Hey Joel,

Just wondering if a bit adapter that was made for the Juice line as well as others would fit on the philips driver so you can use a vairiety of bits!

If so, that would be great! :D

well styx

I haven't been hindered by the Phillips driver its plenty long. The flat driver on the other hand is to short.

hmm changes besides a file. Hmm

ditch the can opener for a awl would be my first suggestion.

I'd like to see a scissor offered by putting in a combo edge blade and losing the serrated blade.

leatherman should really make a civilian oht. This is a good tool. It just needs a little work to be a excellent one.

Then they should definitely take your suggestions into account as I'm sure a lot of people would agree with you on at least some points

Joel,

I wasnt really asking if you had the bit extender for the juice line, just wondered if one would fit that OHT so you could adapt other bits and in the case wihere the flat driver is too small for the job. :D

I kinda thru that out there to see if anyone would comment if they had both or if they know if would fit or not fit!  Anyone?

Curious, ya know!  It would be a big plus if it does!  :tu:

I didn't get to the file today.

Il get it done Monday.

today I used the oht to cut a lot of wire and to tighten a value missing it's handle.. The one hand opening was very useful when working in tight spots.

photobucket is having issues so sorry no pics for now

edit photobucket is still down.

I'm more interested in pics of the tear down and reassembly of the OHT itself. How does it come apart, what it looks like apart and how easy it is to put back together.

I'm also happy you got your file.
