Well I am back at work. The oht has came in handy a few times today.

first I used the plane edge blade to make a glove that fits around my finger splint.

not long after I had to fill diesel on a truck. I couldn't get the cap off so oht to the rescue

It is odd that there's no file on a tool like that.  I would think something like the can opener wouldn't fit in with the idea of OHO tools, but that's just my opinion.

When I rocked Waves and Charges I only used the file once , taking a minor burr off a lock cylinder . I've used the saw on SAK's ,  Swisstools , and Spirits quite a bit to cut PITA nails .

I'd use the file mostly for trimming styrofoam skirting .

if I'm not doing that I don't miss it much.

I'm just used to having a set of tools always on me and a file is part of my normal tool set.

I'm still planing on getting a sak to back up the oht's lacking tools

a Vic awl will be a bonus and will not be redundant if I use the oht's small driver as it was intended.

:) I'm a nerd :)

You will like it. Only thing wrong with it as JA said, is it has no file. Other than that, it is a sweet tool.

Ha, yeah, I can see how that would be cool.  Any tool being OHO is a major plus really.  There are many times when you may need one hand to hold something or whatever and it would be handy and convenient to be able to deploy whatever tool you needed with the other hand without having to let go of the item.  Still, I can't even count the number of times I've needed a can opener (for that intended purpose anyway) and not been within reach of my actual kitchen can opener.  I know it would be handy to have in a situation where you're having to survive on canned goods in the wilderness or something, but in my experience, that doesn't happen often ;)

Really glad this is working out for you JA, and you've found a workaround for the injury  :tu: I'm not a fan of the OHT for myself from what I've seen of it, but it's great to see folks paired up with a tool which suits them  :D

As an aside, I've sometimes found that the point on that style can opener can work quite well in place of a file without knackering up the smaller drivers (depending on the job at hand). That's what I do if carrying a Wenger SAK and need a sharper awl than the one of the backspring  ;)

If I was going to me  >:D I'd say the Gerber Grappler has a OHO file  :pok: .... but seen as I'm  I won't say that ...  :P
(just larking around  ;) and it looks like the OHT is far better suited for your needs TBH  :salute: )

Well I have been giving the oht a good workout for about a week now and I got to say the I'm impressed how comfortable this tool is to use.

The oht may be lacking a couple of tools but the tools it has are all very good and the comfort this tool has more than makes up for a extra trip to the tool box now and then.

the two tools I've yet to use are the can opener and the rescue blade. I think the gutting /rescue blade  will be a good as a  plastic sheeting cutter but I have yet to try it. The can opener I doubt Il every use to open a can but it will work as a scraper blade if not a awl.

some tools are a joy to use and this is one of them to me. :)

I don't have a pst anymore, but if I remember right, the pliers are close. Here is a pic of a Surge biside it if that helps.
