I seem to recall a story about a surgeon who went to volunteer his services in Africa, but had his surgical saw stolen. Successfully performed a number of amputations with his (wood saw-equipped) SAK. Unsurprisingly, cellidor scales did not survive multiple sterilizations between procedures, but SAK otherwise passed this test with flying colors.Bottom line: Wood saw cuts bone no problem, although you might be best served with an alox model or even a fixed-blade saw from an ease-of-cleanup standpoint.
