2010 Böker Special Run Napoleon Damascus
on: September 11, 2013, 03:23:05 PM
A small knife that does not appear to be liked by many, perhaps due to its strange triangle shape.

Only 199 pieces worldwide. 300 layers hand forged steel and desert ironwood. I like the design and materials choice a lot.

Photos to follow.

It arrived in an oversized black wood box including the numbered certificate of authenticity and an excellent thick and soft black leather pouch for horizontal belt carry.

The knife - small but strong. Very comfortable handling, in both orientations, despite the small size, due to the well done handle shape.

That reminds me a lot of the Outdoor Edge Wedge knife that was very popular a while back.

It is also a bit reminiscent of the Ranger Knives Little Bird.

I like small fixed blades.  :D

Looks pretty damn sweet, how much did it set you back?

Love the way they have done a very bold damascus pattern on that small blade.

Thanks. The pattern shows as well on the blade spine and the tang all around the knife. Question answered in PM.

It actually reminds of a clinch pick for some reason.  Not as thin of a blade profile but very similar.

The blade is 3.5 mm thick at the spine - same as the tang. Flat grind. It's not sharpened on the top, neither does it have a concave cutting portion or comes with quick draw pouch. It's just a small albeit stout gentleman's knife IMHO. I'd be interested to know the actual origin of the said Napoleon style, if is not just a random chosen name.
