Are they out to market yet? I can only buy them once they hit eBay Canada...and that could take some time.
A little Leatherman information.

It got here a little early. Here's what we've all been waiting for:

First off, the overall size is perfect for pocket carry.

The pliers are good size and seem quality, albeit a little stiff.

The blade came separately and was a bit of a challenge to install.

The scissors are actually pretty good for light duty. I tested them on a thick plastic bag of cat treats and it did cut with some difficulty.

The overall fit and finish is superb. This is a well built version of the LEAP and the blade comes ground properly and good and sharp.

TBH, I was expecting a little bit of a let down but I am thoroughly please with this tool. :2tu:

Well done LM :salute:

Nice one steve.

Other than being ugly as sin, it does appear to be well made.  I still can't say it will be my son's first multi or knife.  My first was a Vic Classic SD that I still have, and I fully plan on giving a Classic SD to my son for his birthday, and I might go with a Squirt PS4 after that.

Thanks for the pictures! Could you take some pictures of it next to another tool or your hand or something, just for size comparison? :D

That looks like a right proper Gerber.  :D

Can't wait to get these...I hope I don't have to wait half a year.

Dan, want me to put together a Leap package for you?  Cutlery Shoppe has the three (current?) colors in.  I thought they were going to release a more female-friendly version, too?

Any chance of seeing it next to another tool or two, just to get a proper sense of the size? Measurements never work well for me for that.

Really doesn't look bad. Well I mean it's ugly but who cares, as a tool it doesn't look bad. I'll have to grab one when I see them in Canada.

I carried this today in my shirt pocket and hardly noticed it was there.

I completely forgot to mention its saw. Although short, it appears/feels like it means business :tu:

Nice one mate.  Good to hear it seems to be OK. :tu:  What are the screwdrivers like?  Proper Phillips or semi-flat?

It's a flat Phillips similar to that on the Wingman. It also has a flat tiny Phillips and a small flat driver, along with some pretty good tweezers (well ground, meeting perfectly flush).

Cheers Steve.  TBH I could actually live with the flat Phillips, they often work perfectly well.  I don't think I realised it had second Phillips.

Whoa whoa... thats pretty fast to have the knife blade in there the first day!  I think you're supposed to have adult supervision for awhile first!

Thanks for the pics.  It looks better than I expected to be honest.  Id take one of those over a wingman any day. :salute:

I believe that plastic/fiberglass handle is LM's version of G10.

I want one to play with!  I do plan on taking one apart too.  :D

Hmmm...I haven't. I think I will try to go this one alone Rex and see what happens. Apparently Cutlery Shoppe does ship to Canada. Only time will tell.

Much appreciated for the offer though.  :salute:  :)

I have to say my 11 yr old son shares the same sentiment. He and I often go trekking and camping and he currently owns a LM Mini.
How is Leatherman planning to capture youth market with something they consider as uncool (I won't say here what he actually said when he saw the photos), is anyone's guess.  ???
