Gerber comes through!
on: September 17, 2013, 10:17:30 PM
I bought a Gerber Warrant Knife that was a display model and didn't come with a sheath, but it was only $5 so I didn't really care.

I thought I'd email Gerber to see if I could buy a sheath from them, and they came back saying they are going to send me a complimentary one!

They came through for me before when I needed new grips for my MP800, but I didn't expect them to send a sheath for free. :tu:

Good customer service like that makes me more likely to buy another product from them in the future.

From my personal experience Gerber has the best customer service in the business with Leatherman coming in a close second.  :tu:

Yeah I'm still floored that they'd send it no charge. With that service, it makes me want to be a repeat customer, and I'm starting to eye some more goods!

I have only dealt with Gerber customer service once.

I had an older MP600 type that the file was broken off of.  I remembered that at one time you could buy replacement blades, but  I could not find it on their site.  so I called and they explained that they no longer offer that, and I could send it in for warranty.

my MP600 had a broken file, covered in paint, and the plastic lock releases were somewhat melted

they sent me a brand new MP600 that has the replaceable wire cutters with a new sheath also.

I agree, I have no issues with their customer service.

I have one tool go back to gerber, leatherman, and Victorinox.  I have not got the Vic back yet, both the other two were smooth sailing.
If I can help, let me know

Customer service and quality are what you pay for with the big brands.   You could buy a ten dollar cheapo from Wal Mart and get a few years worth of service from it before it breaks or you lose it but you won't get the satisfaction of knowing the company will stand behind the product and fix any issues you may have.

To me, that support is worth the extra money over the cheapo.

My sheath arrived yesterday!  :mail:  :D

I really like the sheath, and the knife.  It's a very comfortable knife to carry, and you don't even notice that you have it on.

 :tu: Gerber!
