Swisstool/Spirit name changes?
on: September 22, 2013, 02:55:33 PM
Just looked at the Victorinox website at the Swisstools & Spirits, and the names are different from what we're used to. For example:

Standard Spirit is listed as Spirit III
Spirit X is listed as Spirit II
Spirit S is listed as Spirit I

Similar story with the Swisstools ...

Strange   I thought the S was discontinued anyway, so why rename it?
If the trees blew down the wind and no one was around, would the alphabet song really go backwards?

Oh could this mean the S is coming back?

Nope, nothing new. :D You've just been seeing the US names till now. ;)

They've been called that in the European catalogs for a long time now. Not even sure if they ever used the X, S, ... here.

I'm surprised I've not seen them listed like that in the UK  :-\ I have seen then called with their long designation, the X and S, and also seen them listed with no designation so you have to look at the pic to figure out which one it is  :D Never with the 1,2,3 though

If you go to the victorinox.ch it's the same 1, 2, 3 thing there too.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Not just you Al, I've never come across this naming system before either.

Reminds me of when they did not want to name the famous film "King George the 3rd" as they were worried that people will assume it was the 3rd sequel in a trilogy.

so it was called the madness of King George instead..
Kelly: "Daddy, what makes men cheat on women?
Al : "Women!"
