Gerber-Tools.com laser engraving
on: May 09, 2008, 01:54:37 AM
Has anyone bought an engraved tool from them? I got my screen name, E. Danny, engraved into it. It was a yellow color. I didn't know it'd lose that luster from sitting in it's sheath, cause now it's the same color as the tool! So what the heck??

I've seen that yellow tint in photographs of laser engraving before. (Don't have any myself though) I always thought it was some form of oxidation.

Did it turn gray when you wiped the tool with oil?

No, as a matter of fact. It doesn't get a lot of use actually.

That is a little odd

Maybe you should drop them an Email as they've probably had it happen before, or at least will have a better idea of why it happened :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!
