RIP Tom Clancy
on: October 02, 2013, 09:27:20 PM
Rest easy.  This man wrote books faster than I could read them.  He left me behind somewhere around the 4th book or so.   I think I have almost all of them and just don't seem to have time to read them.

I love his John Clark series.  A huge bonus is that his books center around Baltimore and Washington DC.  I know many of the locales he described.  Really sad to hear of his death :(

I read several of his books when I was younger. His Jack Ryan books got me interested in reading politcal thrillers, wich really opened up a new world of litterature to me.

Some of his books were more than a bit iffy(Patriot Games for example), but Hunt For Red October is a classic.

So long Tom,and thank you :salute:

Sad to hear.  Hunt For Red October is a classic thriller.  Two other favorite Clancy novels of mine are Red Storm Rising and Without Remorse.  Rest In Peace, sir.  :salute:

was one of my favs, I found Red Storm Rising last year (hardcover) at a garage/yard sale. I've had/read most of his books, even the non fiction.
