Huh... for something called a 'shooter', it seems to be missing a brass carbon-scraping tool, disassembly punch, small flat driver for sight adjustment, etc., etc.

Oh... wait... this is another pointless surfer-smurfer tool, isn't it? :(

And, by the way, I claim (TM)(C) on 'surfer-smurfer'. :D

I was thinking the same thing. Like they got their names all mixed up - the Rail sounds more like it should be a skateboarding or BMX tool but it is a shooting tool. The Shooter is a surfing tool. Ummm, hello...

The Leatherman Surfer-Smurfer? Now that sounds like a surfing tool!

I posted "Do not want" on their Instagram page.  Leatherman needs to step up their game if they expect to sell me anything other than a replacement Wave if I ever lose or wear out the current one.

LM will have some new stuff at SHOT that will be more exciting than these Xtreme tools for the average MT enthusiast. They still haven't mentioned the LEAP, so at least there's that.

LEAP?

Just searched for it. Probably a tool for cliffhangers and basejumpers. Primary tool is rope.

There was a thread about the LEAP on here a few weeks ago. Somebody found a patent application that LM put in around July I believe describing some new multitool in very general terms. If it materializes into a new product (I think it will) they will probably debut at least a prototype version of it in January. In case you haven't seen it yet, follow this link for more info.

Geeze... They're really pumping out these simple, 1 piece tools now, eh?
I bet the profit margins on them are sky high, since its probably only 2 or 3 steps in making them(Punch it our of plate steel, put a bevel on the edges, and etch the tool logos and brand onto it)

I mean they have made atleast 10 of these in the past 3 years, and the only other updates we see are really niche things(T-rex and those shears are only really useful for first responders) or uninspired updates on older tools(skeletool SX and, assuming they ever actually sell it, the updated surge)

Can't really blame them though...they need some way to pay for that warranty policy.

Lol, a shooter is a type of surfboard, just like a thruster.

Sometimes I get these ideas about other niche specific MTs. My wife does a lot of sewing and crocheting - so I am brain-storming a MT for that.

- crochet needle bit exchanger
- scissors
- needle and pin storage
- ruler/measuring tape
- ummmmm...
