Leatherman T2C Mod
on: January 26, 2024, 05:53:49 AM
Was not always big fan of the T2 until I found a cheap one on eBay. I put a few additions that significantly increased the price of the tool, but at the very least it makes a unique universal bit driver.

Yeah, worked out better than I thought it would. My idea of a universal driver, box cutter, plastic package opener for use around the house.

Very cool  :tu:  What is holding the Wingman package opener?  It looks like a bit holder, but it's too thin.

That is a T-shank holder for T2 or T4 from Ali Express. You just have to spend a little quality time with a Dremel and grinding wheel to make the Wingman package openers fit the T-shank. I have always liked the way the Wingman opener works on clamshell packages. Nothing quite like it.

Care to elaborate on exactly what you added to the tool ?

First, I removed the stock Leatherman back spacer on the T2. Replaced it with a stainless steel version from Ali Express that gives you magnetic Leatherman, quarter-inch, and 4 mm adapters. It also has a magnetic floor to store a few bits under implements in the tool. Next, I changed up the tool lineup by removing the awl and Phillips driver. Replaced these with scissors and a t-shank adapter for the free series from Ali Express. Since standard t-shank blades will not fit in tool (without a serious reduction in size) I chose to modify a Leatherman wingman package opener.
