Camillus Carnivore.

I found this nice machete in one of the flyers from the local TSC store. It was just shy of 20 bucks, and at that price, I couldn't turn it down.

This is a Camillus Carnivore. It is 18" long, the blade taking up 12" of that. The blade is rather interesting in that it is partially serrated and features a tanto style chisel tip. There is a gut hook on the backside, and the blade back is nice and thick and meaty. The machete has a nice weight to it. It has a nice pleasing feel when swinging at imaginary zombies lol. The handle has a nice rubber texturized feel to is, and is contoured perfectly for big and small hands. There is no lanyard to get in the way. I like this one.

That is a gut hook sparky415. I guess you could cut the necks off of bottles with a swing if needed.

Ive never seen a serrated machete before. Was this made for a specific perpose or just to look mean?

Its the zombie marathoner... once you tire of slashing zombies, take a break and easily slice bread to make a sandwich with the dual action carnivore!

Doesnt seem too durable. Its got a teeny tiny tang.

I've never really paid much attention to Camillus until Led Stroud started touting his own purile celebrity endorsed line, and I got an electricians knife theough jerseydevil here. The electricians knife is actually a bloody good wholesome user, and feels bit as reassuring in build as it looks.

As for their fixed blades and celebrity endorsed zombie botherers, I hadn't seen anything to intrigue and impress me ... and I'm sorry to say I'm still waiting. Before I looked at the vid Syph posted, it just looked wrong. A machete with a tanto blade? "bread knife" serrations? That handle didn't fill me with confidence either ... and then the vid revealed what lies inside ... very little. An interesting looking knife for a collection for sure, but not something I'd feel happy using, even before I saw the vid

Remember though, that TL-29 is from the original NY-based Camillus.......

Given the size and weight of this thing, I'd imagine this originally was meant for abuse(batoning, chopping, 'bush wacking' or clearing out thick foilage...) but am a little disappointed to see how the small tang does affect its performance.
