Quick man-bag dump:

What bag is it? I've been searching for something smaller and non-tacticool for off days.

Hope all is well with the better half. :salute:

Cheers Enki. Just got back from the hospital today and I finally brought my wife back home, all on her birthday! :) She did well after a 10 day battle against an heavy infection and a surgery to remove some bits that could not be saved. But she is on her way to a full recovery now, and all is well.
I just managed to sit down with a beer after packing in the hospital, and unpacking at home, going to cook for us soon.

The bag is a small bag with a shoulder strap from Billabong, some surf brand I believe? Just big enough for some small things that don't fit in my pockets. It is on its last legs after 5 years or so, one corner is starting to tear away. Clips seem to do that after a while...

Thanks G. That lighter is built like a tank, but the gunmetal coating is not up to sniff. Lucky the way it looks does not affect the way it trows flames.  :D

Microbe,

is that a reflection on the knife blade?  it actually looks like the knife blade folds out AGAIN from the cutting edge near the tip.  I can even see a nail nick

It seems like there is indeed a weird reflection going on
The Spirit reflects the Opinel that in turn reflects an outside garden plant?
And the Opinel reflects the Spirit that in turn reflects a part of the window and the sky.
I did not plan this, it just is a coincidence...

Microbe,

I notice you do EDC the pocket size Moleskine, and so do I.  I have been actively trying to figure out how best to carry mine on person, since I only carry things in my front pocket.  The pocket moleskine will take up the entire khaki pocket, if paired with either my cell phone/MT or wallet/keys.

Do you carry yours on person?  :pok:

I usualy carry too much stuff to do the "on person" thing. I started using a (small) bag years ago.
Although, my left back pocket could handle it with ease, I don't want an ass curved notebook.
The small bag does give some struggle at times. ex: bag is under vest, can't take off bag unless I take off the vest. Bag is over vest or jacket, cant take out jacket until after I take off the bag. Then I need to put the bag back on...  I should cut the strap, and attach it to a clip style buckle for easy on/off.  :D

I think my story is similar to yours, except I still at the on-going love-hate relationship with a bag.  I felt kinda silly to lug around a big bag just so I could carry my pocket notebook with me.  I know MoleSkine does have a thinner softback version of the pocket calendar/notebook, but it's just too much hassle to write the same thing twice.

If you constantly wear a jacket and don't mind the slim bag under jacket, the 'shoulder wallet holster' might worth looking into:
http://www.just4leather.co.uk/travel-accessories/quality-hide-leather-brown-shoulder-holster-wallet

Unfortunately, for myself, I wear just a polo shirt and a khaki pants most of the time, year around.  And I probably have to convert to the thinner moleskine or start wearing a bag to accommodate everything I carry.

Very nice features on that knife.

Exchangeable framelock tab, overstretching lock, low riding pocket clip. :tu: All the best. :salute: It would be better if at least the clip would have been black too. ;) Kind of defeats the purpose of a low riding pocket clip if it's that shiny I think. :D

How do you like it so far?

How do you like it so far?

first impressions:
-black anodizing color is great (Ti versions cant be anodized black)
-very light for it's size - (thought the large box it came in was empty)
-size works just well for me
-perfect detailing, no flaws anywhere
-blade a bit stiff to open
-very solid lockup, feels like a fixed blade
-rotoblock is a nice feature (locking the lock)
-very sharp out of the box. sharper then my (older) ceramic chef
-pocket clip is though (I pull up my pants when I draw the knife)
-glass breaker (it's a multi tool)
-smells like new
 :)

So far, so good. Best quality steel knife I ever had. Biggest folder I ever owned aswell.

Like the knife, hate the pivot screw. Very hard to adjust, needs special tool...

Looks like a small torx with 3 circular, milled indents around, so no really "special" tool needed, or am I looking at the wrong spot?

Looks to me like a torx T8 for the pivot and T6 for the lock bar, blade stop, ... fairly common.

There is a tool in the box to adjust the pivot, and to change the side of clip if desired.

The belt that is showing slightly in the picture above is Stingray leather. It matches my wallet.

I thought you'd need something else, not a simple torx. I've seen some screws like that and they needed a tool with 4 "spikes" that fit inside those holes, kinda like those tools used to unscrew watch back covers.
