Victorinox Warranty!!!
on: May 08, 2008, 10:06:28 PM
Well, as many of you know I sent a SwissTool for repair due to the loose plier pivot. I sent the tool out Monday and it is already entered in the system. So, I got an email back from warranty that stated: Dear Nikko,

This is to confirm that we have received your Swiss tool for repair and upon inspection of your tool we have decided that it indeed has a manufacture defective in the pliers.

We are opting at this time to send you a new replacement model number 53905. Your new replacement will be shipping to you by ups ground out of our distribution within 3-7 business days as it takes time to process the order. Thank you for your interest in our Victorinox Swiss Army Products and if you have any further questions or concerns you may reach me at my direct number listed below. Have a Good Day

                                                                                          Sincerely,

                                                                                           Cheryl

Even better news! I sent an email to see if I could get a SwissTool RS to put in the EDC rotation. So, she emailed me back saying it's not a problem, all the SwissTools are the same price!

Sounds great service from Victorinox. I've never had to use the Warranty on any Vic stuff but its nice to know they are there and seem top notch on service.

How loose was your plier head pivot?

I have one that seems to be doing the same thing.

Mine has the 02 head even though I bought about 6 months ago.

I think it may be time to send mine in too :(

Mine was pretty loose. It was enough to make the handles rattle.

I certainly would.  Especially if the service is as good as that.

Well, I got my new RS yesterday.. I will like it more because I didn't buy it! I noticed something though. On my new SwissTool Cordura sheath it says Made in USA on the belt loop. While, my other SwissTool sheaths had stickers on them saying Made in Mexico. Also, the USA sheath is way thinner than the Mexican one. The tool is also more recessed in the USA made one! Anyone have any ideas? I wish I could take a pic!
