Leatherman CROC?
on: October 23, 2013, 07:13:46 PM
I just saw this at Home Depot,  looked odd.

to me it looks like a cheap, half made piranha, but some people may prefer that

If I can help, let me know

Not a bad buy.  Did the Sidekick still come with the carabiner tool and the sheath?

I knew I shouldn't have read this, these new one piece tools they are turning out don't seem to be that good

And is this one available only as a combo or can the Croc be bought separately? I'd like to know how it compares size-wize to the Piranha.

it is EXACTLY the same size, just no "eye" for the 1/4" bit, and no hole to hold the bit.

also , no lettering.
I did not see this tool by itself

Wow, that is really interesting. It's not listed on the LM site at all. Although I just saw the skate tools are now on there - the Jam and Grind.

If the price was right ($5-7) I wouldn't mind having a CROC by itself.

Good call, Metro! Maybe these will be collectible in several years if that is the case.

So i called Leatherman, and it is a promo package, but they will sell the Croc individually in the future.  It is brand new.

Detron, I can see you and  I think alike. I just messaged them on FB! Lol, I am glad to hear this - hopefully the price will be reasonable. The Piranha lists on the LM site for $35 (and is cheaper on the streets) and since this is a simpler version it would make sense that it would be cheaper.

this would be better in my Skinth M7 than the piranha because it is completely flat.  HOWEVER, I can just take the bit and bit holder out of my piranha and achieve the same thing, and be left with a "bit driver" and a rectangular hold that can turn a wingnut or something

if it does my ptx 154cm piranha may get a reptile friend.

I think Leatherman could package up their floor sweepings and some of us would buy them.

So, how much for the Croc by itself?
