Autumn Orange Alox Cadet YIPEE!!
on: May 15, 2008, 01:22:47 AM
 :sak:

Hi all,

I was at the local camping store today and saw an autumn orange cadet and I HAD to have it.

Man, I am IMPRESSED!  I've never even held an alox cadet before and I think it will be the prefect dress pants knife.  It's thin and has the tools I need.

Here's the funny part:

I was with my best buddy having some pizza and beer date, you know, a little BROmance, when I found the sak  :drink:.  We drove back to my car, which was parked at the Starbucks.  I got into my car and the darn thing wouldn't start.  Apparently I'd left something on and the battery drained.

My bud has a saturn and they have screws that hold a cover on the battery.  Can you guess what I used to get the cover off?  Yep, you guessed it, my new cadet.

Man, saks are SO handy.

Thought I'd share.

Take care,
Brett

I wanted a Cadet, but nobody ships them to Israel, for some reason. Weird.

Tim (felinevet) ships internationally, and he's the cheapest sak suplier around, plus all the money goes to charity and supports this site :)

I already used up the Cadet fund since.  :(

If anyone's charitable enough to send me a souvenir, I can pay for shipping, but other than that, it'll have to wait.

Will definitely check Tim's store out, though: I already signed up for the Wenger Deathgrip adventure, might as well save on aforementioned shipping...

Cadets are great. A little thin for my tastes but they do make the perfect formal knife

I paid 30.00 plus tax.  If I wasn't so impulsive,I would have waited and bought one from felinevet.  Next time!

Take care,
BRett

well, it was definitely one of those moments.  It was calling to me.   :climber: :gimme:

You know, I've carried it all day today adn barely noticed it was there.  However, when I needed it, it cut cheese, rope, packages, etc.

A great little knife and I think my new EDC companion.

yeah, to be honest, I'd never even seen one before yesterday.  I am sure I've seen them online, but when I saw it in the case, iw as like WHAT!?  I'd never seen a sak that thin.

I'm really glad I got it.  I love the color too.

Now, as soon as I get my spirit back from j sews with the pocket clip, I'll be set!!!!!!

Tim doesn't answer my emails. We've already discussed the Swissgrip deal, but now he just disappeared. Anyone know what's up with that?

I'm in Israel and I got one from Felinevet.
Go to http://felinevet.sosakonline.com/ ,that's Felinevet's shop, check under victorinox new to see if he still has them ,and other colors, in stock.
EMail him your order ,confirm price and ask how much shipping is (was around 8 dollars airmail ,arrives in less than 2 weeks to Israel) and you can pay with paypal.
His site might have trouble taking an order from abroad but by mail ther's no problem.
I've ordered a few saks through him and he's fast reliable and has very nice prices which also go to help his charity organization.
fveap@earthlink.net is his email.
Good Luck
Shalom

I've already talked to Tim about ordering a Swissgrip. He let me know when he needs confirmation and I gave it to him three days ago. Later, I decided to add a Vic 2AA LED (seeing how I've been looking for one and they are on sale) and contacted him to ask if it was possible to combine shipping. Neither message received a response.

Tim doesn't answer my emails. We've already discussed the Swissgrip deal, but now he just disappeared. Anyone know what's up with that?

P.S. Felinevet's store has an orange Cadet, costing 24 USD. I spent 26 USD on a Leatherman Juice auction, when I thought Cadets were off limits. For now, I'll have to pass.

It is possible that Tim's e-mail provider started considering your e-mails as "spam" - happens all the time. Try a PM on this forum. And i am sure Tim will contact you as soon as he sees your post.

Tim ALWAYS replies to emails, so if he hasn't I'm sure it will be due to a technical problem.

Heheh... There was quite a bit more commotion to be had behind the scenes. We've sorted it out, though. Sorry for derailing the thread.

Let's hear more about those Cadets! What's so great about them, anyway?  ;)
