UPS stopped at my house today to drop off the Evo Grip but I was wasting my life away at work.  I really have to stop doing that.

I'll pick it up at the depot tomorrow.

Tom, I'd like to hear how that "Universal Wrench" tool works for you.

1) What size nut will fit into it?
2) Does it "grab" the nut properly, or does it tend to slip?

I'm wondering if this would be a worthwhile function to have on a plier multitool.

What size nut will it handle?

 :P

......wait a minute, let me rephrase that: What size hexagonal fastener will fit within the wrench jaws?

Uhhhh... I dunno- I'll have a look at it and get back to you!

I've never been one for measuring things- I usually just pull out the tool and if it works, great, if it doesn't, try something else!

Handy looking Evo.  It will be interesting to see what you folks think of the tool.  I saw an article recently where a Sure Fire knife has a wrench similar to the one in the Evo.  On the SureFire it is machined into one of the handle scales.  The knife also has a wire cutter, screwdrive, glass breaker and maybe a few more features.

My 5 year old son would love the Evo...the more tools it packs the better he likes it.  He gets his first knife in April when he turns 6...I already purchased the "My First Vic" for him.

I look forward to your input on this Evo.  I'm learning a lot from you tool guys.

 :)

Yeah, Surefire's new knife looks interesting, but at around $260 or so, you could get alot of SAKs and multis that will do alot more!

It looks neat, I agree, but I'll bet it doesn't do any of that stuff as well as a Charge or Wave, but looks way cooler and has a bigger price tag as a result.

As I was reading the article about it in TK magazine I thought that it sounded cool- until I thought that a decent multi would do all that too!  And I have many multis...

Or perhaps we are missing the point altogether? I wonder how many people pony up $260 for this knife, and then actually USE it for anything?

Yeah, I agree that a Charge, Powerlock or Swilltool (or others) will probably perform most work better...with the exception of cutting.  I wasn't sure of the price.  You are right that many a SAK can be bought for $260.

If all of you want to take up a collection and get me the SureFire knife(tool), I'll be glad to review it here on multitool.org for you.  :D

Yeah, $400 seems like a bit much for a knife pretending to be a multitool...

I wouldn't spend a penny more than $399.95 on it!

Yeah, second hand on eBay... if I bought those kinds of things I'd be too snooty to get one that was used!
