Good day to all MT.O'ers!! Here to present you the latest member of my Gerber family: a bladeless MP600!!! I needed a bladeless MT since I'm now working at a school setting. I thought about converting one of my other MP's to bladeless, but would have been as expensive :ahhh , so ... bought new!!! I find that the MP platform is rock solid, and since it's cheaper than my other tools I baby them a lot less and I'm less concerned for lending them. And they're so easy to disassemble and play around!!!!
Shown also my mod'ed saw blade, and "custom tool kit".
Anyway, thanks to all for your inspiration, and time to read! :hatsoff:

Those are some seriously nice setups there, Juan! :o

Very thorough in thought and arrangement. Makes my EDC look scattered and disorganized. :ahhh

I’ve just got a MP600 bladeless for EDC when I’m not working. Got a few Gerber items now and can’t wait for the Straightlace to be available in the UK

:like: Radius imo is one of the oddest MT from Gerber! Strange combination of material and very peculiar implements! Light duty in a massive package!

:iagree:

It is funny though. Gerber went through the trouble of making the pliers snap out/close like a SwissTool(slick mechnical "pop") and all locking implements. Did they just run out of R&D money after a bit?

One think that is a positive(and sorry if you already know), and that no other big-brand has done, is completely isolated pliers and tool ends. Plastic handle insulation. May be a good option in the event a live circuit needs to be messed with. :ahhh

That's an odd and nice Gerber, Alex! ;) I was never drawn to it though, but as a collector is a must have  :hatsoff:
What I like the most about it though, is the sheath.

I got a new "BG Suspension" and it came with that sheath or a very similar one, and I love it!!  :salute:

It is an odd one indeed! And good catch getting the BG with that style sheath! The regular sheaths are pretty bad.

Had a Gerber Flik.  (Was stolen some weeks ago. Hard to find another here)
The tool was my most liked toy to play, fidget ...
I developed my own techinique to open the scisors (nice scisors)
Maybe a MP-400 or a Diesel (hard to find too) for the next tool...
One hand opening for me is essential

After that very impressive MP600 Fisherman from GLBM my latest Gerber doesn't look that special.

But I'm still very excited about it  ;).

And the best thing is, I got two of them now  :D.

Read the entire story here (warning, excited rambling in that topic, proceed at own risk  ;)).

That is a great find at that price! :like:

As nice as the Fisherman is, I would still take the CD out to use over a Fisherman(even if they weren't $bookoodles).

Congrats on finding a good price on one T-G! Nice writeup you did as well. Definitely one of Gerber's better Fit & Finish endeavors. I did have slightly misaligned pliers on the one bought as a user, but it didn't hurt the function during the challenge.

Now we need to find ourselves some Center-Drive Plus versions for less than an $arm and $leg.

Nice .

That BO CenterDrive is next on my Gerber "wanted list", but I'm going to wait until the prices on them drop a bit (both the BO CD and the CD Plus cost 169,90€ over here at the moment  ::)).

So, what do you think of that leather sheath ?  Only "negative" thing I could say about it is that it's a bit bulky, but on the other hand, the CD is a big tool, and there's room for the bits as well, can't pack all of that in a slim sheath, right  ;).

Thanks, T-G!

The sheath definitely looks like a well made, well thought-out, and nicely finished accessory.  The sheath is about as small as it could be considering the material and tool size(a bit bulky as you mentioned)/bit set size. They might could have saved a bit of thickness by using a snap like the ones on the new Leatherman nylon sheaths. Overall I think Gerber did a great job on it. It is good to see Gerber(and LM) starting to take their sheaths more seriously.  :)

Edit:

Checking around, maybe you could contact this guy about international shipping?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/OTIS-GERBER-5-56-223-GUN-CLEANING-KIT-CENTER-DRIVE-MULTI-TOOL-PLIERS-MAGLITE-a7/283540613346?hash=item42045668e2:g:duMAAOSw3hVdIiHH#shpCntId

I bought my BO CD by buying that kit. I don't have a rifle, but the brushes, lens stuff, oil, and stuff come in handy for other things.  :)
The Maglite that came with mine is a high-intensity red, but I don't know if all the Otis kits come with it.

I think that Center Drive set is a great deal--unfortunately, I own nothing in .223. Thus, the kit is useless. I wonder if it can be used with .22 rifles safely?

Maybe someone with a .22 will know. :dunno:

But, I did find a bunch of uses for a lot of the stuff in the kit.  :)
