The light in question is an early production g2 polymer bodied Surefire. A few months ago, I found I'd gotten crud in the switch. Disassembled and cleaned it, reassembled it. Now it is unreliable- sometimes it lights up, sometimes it doesn't. It isn't a matter of end cap position, as it will work fine, set it down for a few days, and then it doesn't work. I have inspected the spring for corrosion and scrubbed where it come in contact with the battery with emery paper. I have ruled out the light engine and the batteries- it works 100% when I short it with a jumper wire. The cap feels positive in action, it just doesn't light.
Any thoughts?
