Not-Handy Man Keychain tool idea
on: November 05, 2013, 09:04:28 PM

There are a few little tools that I've had my eye on, but the prices are just too much to justify starving my children. I was looking for a titanium marlinspike--something I would actually use often--and the only one I found was part of a multitool that I had no interest in otherwise.

So I got a pack of Vargo titanium tent pegs and cut one in half. A little work with a Dremel, and I turned the pointy end into a simple spike, and put a similar blunt point on the other piece and put it on my keychain for an EDC spike/mini-kubotan. Total cost: less than four bucks for two mini Ti tools.

When we fix my buddy's lathe, I'm going to turn some more of these pegs into something like the Tec Inchworm but with a spike on one end. Any other ideas for making stuff from these relatively inexpensive titanium rods would be much appreciated.
