Yes, I was going by the emblem but you got me thinking now. And I just realised that the Commander currently doesn't even have the scale tools category. Maybe you could add a Basic/Classic/Commander disambiguation to that page as you've been researching the lines and have the info. The Snife Commander series had both toothpick and tweezers but the scales and emblem were painted.

The Apprentice is a 85mm Wenger Swiss Army knife with just two layerS, and no tools on the back. Some people find the absence of backside tools make the knife more comfortable to use.

Try this pic... it looks a bit better without needing tuningIs the Wenger shield just printed on the front scale, or made by inlaid metal?Looking at the picture the emblem seems printed and I suspect your knife is probably a Basic 65.Not a big difference, though.

I added Basic 65 under the picture though just in case. Thanks for pointing that out. I still have a few pictures to upload that I got from Vladimir on the Exclusivities.

I still have a few pictures to upload that I got from Vladimir on the Exclusivities.Nikola,I was thinking about it and I don't have a clear answer.See these listings:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wenger-16949-Apprentice-Swiss-Army-Knife-3-25-Inch-/330965053929?pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item4d0f0df1e9and thishttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Swiss-Army-Knife-Apprentice-model-16949-/321286148499?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item4ace259193Both knives shows the emblem just printed on the scale, one has the nail file facing the front, the other facing the back. The only conclusion is the following: if the emblem is printed, there is no real way to tell the difference between an Apprentice and a Basic 65.-----I already uploaded on the wiki the pictures of the S557 Exclusivities a while back.I linked them on the 557 page.http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=EVO+S557
And the second one even has the 16949 model number. Wenger certainly didn't want to make this easy on us. -------------------------------------I didn't notice the link to the picture. It's a good one. Maybe adding it right of the Variations tab with the floating DIV would be better. I'll upload the pictures I got from Vladimir to a new gallery and link it in the description. Any thoughts?
...The funny thing about the Exclusivities is that Wenger used the english name "Exclusivities" on the front scale, but the name on the box label is the french "Exclusivités"http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-browse_image.php?galleryId=12&sort_mode=imageId_desc&imageId=2843&scalesize=o
