Most often when a tree needs felling or a branch trimmed, I'll reach for my chainsaw. It makes easy work out of hard.
But there are those times when nostalgia comes calling and I reach for my comfortable leather gloves and an axe. Also, when it comes to splitting wood for campfires or the fireplace, I'll typically reach for the axe. I haven't ever used a maul or a dedicated motorized log splitter. My axe has always done the work just fine.
I caught the two of them relaxing on a small fallen branch and thought it looked like a good opportunity for a photo.
