My four days vacation

I'm back from four days trip to the birth place of my grandpa.

I stayed at this hotel because it is stratigically located between the city proper and the district where my grandpa was born.






The ancestral house of my grandpa was located at the back of this old Church at Jaro District of Iloilo City. Sad to say the house was demolished several years ago.

Jaro used to be known for its millionaire's row of palatial homes built on fortunes from the lucrative sugar trade during the American colonial period. Seen here are some of the ancestral homes and some are already converted to museums.

Chief, it hard to decide which mansion to buy. Here are more mansions in the millionaires row.

This is the Lizares mansion and was rumured a haunted house. The Lizares family abandoned this house long before the outbreak of WWII and it was uninhabited for so many years. It was was donated to the Dominican priests in the 70's or 80's and this is now the Angelicum School.
