With the approaching of December and colder weather, how does/did your on person carry change? What gear go you add to your pockets or bag if you carry one? Pics are welcome too. :D

For instance I switch from AAA to AA or CR123 flashlights. For most of the summer I'm perfectly fine with a decent AAA flashlight, but now, when it's dark by 4-5pm, I want added power and runtime. And a buff is a must have in the jacket pocket. It's better than a scarf as I can breath through it and it keeps my winter hat from sliding around on my head (does anyone else have this problem :ahhh ). Gloves and a warm coat are a given.

I also switch from Bics to IMCOs or Zippos as far as lighters go. Windproof is the way to go. :tu:

I tried the cleats you pull over your boots last year (as seen below). They worked well for walking on icy roads and sidewalks, but they lost most of their cleats after a short while so I'm searching for a similar but more durable option.

Oh, yeah, sunglasses. I need sunglasses in the winter cause of suns reflection off of the white snow. It makes me sneeze, a lot.

So how does your carry change? I'm interested to see what people from different parts of the world carry and am looking for ideas on how to improve my carry as well. Looking forward to pics as well and I'll be posting some pics of mine too soon. :D

I add some tinder to my sheath. In a small ziplock bag. not a big change, but just in case.
If I can help, let me know

Doesn't change anything at all, really. I'll usually only take a better flashlight when really think I'll need one, and that happens a bit more often, but that's about it. Besides that, I'll wear a sweater now :P Besides that, not much changes... I don't really wear hats, I had a Buff on me anyway, and the rest of the things really aren't much of an issue here, as our winters really aren't that... wintery :P

still hot here.....

I just carry similar things...

maybe switch from the SRM 763, my summer knife, to a slipjoint for casual wear.

I have to keep driving gloves handy for that icy cold steering wheel early in the morning. I use a leather pair that have some Kevlar in them, not the Alan Partridge type.   :D  Otherwise my Reynauds disease starts up, meaning cold, numb hands in short order.

Hand warmers can be good, but I only really use them when I know I'll be standing about in the cold.  I still favour the old charcoal stick variety.  The iron filings in a tea bag type are pretty good as well because they are so lightweight and compact, so it's easy to keep them handy.

I tend to wear boots instead of trainers for more insulation for my tootsies.  Also very handy for a bit more traction when it gets cold, wet and icy.

We got the first taste of winter today with sub zero temperatures and strong winds. Only about 30km/h north wind in my region, but the coastal region is getting winds of 120km/h for the last few days. Nothing unusual though.

I've been thinking about those Zippo hand warmer thingies for the last few years now, added them to my ebay watch list a couple of times and then decided against it. If I'm out in the cold, I'm usually doing something, moving about, shoveling snow, ...  and am not sure if I would benefit form those.

I move from carrying my spirit x to my wave. The OHO options on the wave work well when using gloves.

I don't really change what I carry, they just get more buried.

Extra coat pockets mean I might be able to take a few extra pairs of nitrile disposable gloves with me.

I tend to stay away from carrying anything in a sheath during the summer. In the summer I will normally just wear a T-Shirt (not tucked in) so if I wore a sheath under it, it would print in my shirt and look weird. I'n the Winter I will normally wear a sweatshirt or jacket and you cannot notice a MT in a sheath so I will be more inclined to wear a sheath on my belt.

The only thing that changes is lighting. In the summer months, I tend to only have my ITP A3 on my keys. I will sometimes supplement it with a CR123A light if I am going to be out late.

In winter, as I will usually be wearing a jacket, I tend to carry an 18650 powered light.

Besides clothes, not much really changes for me.  If anything, I'm somewhat more likely to carry a lighter during the colder months.

I think we will miss winter this year.

End of November and it is 24C.

People are still in their shorts and some still go swimming.....    :o

On account of the heating being free (well, it costs us to turn it off) at work, the office is still very much t-shirt weather. Outside isn't.
For me, this is problematic.

Come in, clothes off everywhere. Go out, retrieve clothes from all corners of the office, get dressed... It would be fine if I spent a decent amount of time in one place but I'm often in and out all day doing this and that.

I work on a farm, some of my jobs are outside, some of my jobs are inside. I can be designing things on a computer, fixing things, shovelling smurf, fixing things that shovel smurf, fixing computers that shovel smurf...

All in all, it's a bit of a weird job.

I feel your pain. I’d wear long sleeve shirts and sweaters but my office is kept Africa Hot all year. If I could find the heating controls, I’d adjust the temperature... with a hammer. >:D
