Crazy Koala Bear
on: May 19, 2008, 05:03:25 AM
This poor old Koala Bear was suffering in South Australia's record heat wave early in the year when we had 12 days straight with temps greater than 35 degrees C (around 100 degrees F). Our pool is a salt water pool so the bear did not get a lot of joy , it did run down the back of the yard and had a large drink out of a frog pond we have. We get about 7-10 bears visit us a year when courting at night they make a awful but funny grunting noise (pig like). They crap every were (makes good compost) , their wee stains like nothing else due to the high oil content of eucalyptus leaves(which is all they eat). Also due to the poor nutritional content of the leaves they sleep for up to 19 hrs a day! What a life :D :D

He is trying to have a drink Roadie. Mick we had visions of the bear going aquatic on us , it took about 10 mins shuffling back wards to get off the side. For climbing trees they have very sharp claws & can give you a nasty scratch. One of the kids teachers was walking her dog at the park & her dog spooked it and it climbed up her legs giving her very bad lacerations on both her legs  . We would like to get our boys a dog but dogs & koalas do not get along with many bears getting bitten , ??? what to do ??

Lots of crap, nasty pee, and loud grunting sex noises. Hmmph. Apparently being cute makes up for a lot of shortcomings. (Why didn't someone tell me this sooner?)  ;) :D

Great pics Mat! :)

LM123 it would be tough picking the difference between a straight Koala & a bent Koala :D :D. I have not heard that about the leaves but I am no expert  :)
