For me it's the X, as I feel it's the model with the most utility, and most able to cope with the little jobs that come up from time to time :)

(BTW I did think about adding the 2 Spirit model's, but they really are different animal's to my mind :))

Only handled the Std version but hopefully after the meetup i'll have a better feel for the differences. I do think the X would provide the best of both worlds though :)

Funnily enough, I'm thinking of getting a Standard to use really hard as I tend to baby my X a bit as it was a gift from my folks ::)

I wasn't initially interested in the RS since I never thought I`d need the serrated cutter any more than the serrated blade.  I also think all multis should have scissors, so for the longest time I thought the X was the best one.  Then I got an RS in a trade- I had no particular interest in it, even then, but I took it anyway because a friend wanted something I had, and I was really pleased with it.  It arrived shortly before I went on my vacation last year and I used it almost exclusively.  I started to like it almost instantly and it's been my preferred model ever since.

I like the X since I use both scissors and metal file/saw. One PE blade is enough for my needs.

Well, I like all of them but to be honest I prefer the RS. I like the RS better because I hate the SwissTool files ( except the Spirit's).. I also think the belt cutter is far more useful. Another thing I don't like about the STD. is how the serrated blade has a point. I would rather have a rounded tip just in case I needed to save someone etc. Also, I LOVE how the belt cutter on the RS doesn't have the pointy serrations like on my STD. models. I have not had  good luck with that pattern of serrations.. The RS is by far my favorite SwissTool! But, to be honest, I like the Spirit more than the SwissTools. I like small size and just all of the features. I find the file to be better and I prefer needle nose pliers because of their versatility. Well, they are not needle nose but a lot more so than the SwissTools! One more thing, I like the chisel on the Spirit more also! I like how it has the corner sharpened and even how the wire scraper is far bigger than on the SwissTools.

I have both an Original and an X.  For several years I EDC'd the X.  The scissors were very useful in the job I had.
These days I find the serrated blade on my Original much more useful, so I had to choose that one for the poll.

I am situational in my preferences.  I tend to keep my X for Sunday and other off work times.  If I expect hard use, I want my Original.  The same applies to my companion pocket knives, some I carry for work and some at other times.

Truth be known I am a fan of the original.  I owned the RS once but didn't like the tool trade.  I have a Spirit that I EDC so that is my new love.

But, why don't you like the RS exactly? It has a serrated blade and scissors.

LOL! IMO, the serrated belt cutter works better than the SwissTool serrated blade any day!

I got my RS because it was highly rated for survival and EDC on many forums and I'm glad I did.
it has everything I would like and as far as the quality, I don't have to preach to the choir! ;)

I have two Std's and one RS . I used to have an X model but that went to live with another forum member . I'm not a huge fan of the Swisstools file but I do like two blades and especially a blunt tip serrated blade so the RS is a natural choice for me . Second choice would be the Std with the X coming in third .The curved belt cutter on the RS out performs many other expensive rescue knives and will cut through rope , clothing , webbing with ease and is easy to sharpen on a Spyderco Sharpmaker , just a shame its not one handed opening although I doubt it ever will due to the amount of European countries banning one handed opening .
Despite being around for over ten years the Swisstool is still one of the best Multitools on the market and some (  ;) ) would consider the best .

While not a huge fan of the Swisstool, I picked the Original because it doesn't have the scissors.  I've never used the scissors on any multi that I've owned.

Then how come you just didn't buy an ALX or an XTi? Then, you would have had an extra bit driver!

If I carry a Std. I will just pair it up with a Micra. But, as I said I really loathe the SwissTool file!

Dang, I would have never thought that the X was most popular. I would have thought the Standard, but, I was wrong. I don't understand why Victorinox has a different file for their SwissTool's and Spirits. The Spirit file is so much more coarse and aggressive than the Swisstool's.. I think the metal saw works better on the Spirit also. BTW, I need to have a serrated blade on my multitools. I just have gotten used to it, I guess. Plus, the belt cutter works twice as good as the Standard's serrated blade, IMO!

this poll shows that a Swisstool that has all 5 main tools (PE blade, serrated blade, saw, file, and mini scissors) would sell well.  Replace one straight edge screw driver with a mini scissors and..... voila ! .....a "Swisstool 5".
