Since I recieved my Surge (around 6 months ago), it has been clipped to my pocket every single day. It’s my go to tool and I am never without it. The Surge has really impressed and I believe I have found the tool that will see years and years of carry and use. I used to be all about trying every tool and always carrying something different. I must admit, I have tried just about everything Leatherman has made and the Surge is the winner in my book.  :tu:

I have carried my Surge every day at work for the last 4-5 years I have had it. I can cut stuff, I can loosen or tighten screw stuff, I can file burrs, I can hold a nut or turn a bolt. I can use the bits to open a panel with an Allen or Torx bolt or just the plain old screw drivers. It's just so damn handy

Some Surge action:

Last weekend the Surge helped me fixing the electric window on the front left side of our only car :tu:

Some torx screws were quite a bit recessed.
Good I've got the bit-adapter.

Extracted the control module for the motor located where I drew the orange lines...

... opened it...

... and found some corrosion at the contract pins...

Cleaned them and put all back together.
And it works again  :ahhh

Well this is quite embarrassing but I’ll swallow my pride and ask. I am a saw guy over a file guy but I want to give the file a fair chance to prove itself in my Surge. I tried exchanging the saw for the file but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to change them. The blade exchanger has bested me. I cannot find any text online to explains it either. Can one of you fine ladies or gents please give me a step by step.

Use your nail to rotate the blade exchanger cover clockwise. Get it to the left of the bump of the cover.

That's a cool GIF. I think the nail nicks on the file/saw end and on the scissors are not required. LM could square off the file and make it a bit bigger and you'd still get it out just fine.
I store my file round the other way and I just use my thumb on the blade exchanger to deploy it. The scissors could be buttery smooth if LM polished the contact point with the spring, or you can fold it back and sand it yourself

You're right.
I'm a bit more cautious with the scissors though.
I don't want to push on the spring  too much.
And I don't want the freely swiveling part to spring-crash open

I'm not worried about the spring. You have to get out a ways before it starts acting as such.

Cedar chests are a great way to store memories! Very cool they were able to save that chest, as you don't see a lot of them anymore. The smell reminds me of how the quilts smelled at my grandmother's house so long ago. I probably lost money with the amount of time it took to rebuild that one, but I have a soft spot for cedar. Any excuse to cut/sand cedar is a good one. Absolutely love the smell of cedar. :)
