Nice nessie-ish knife mate :), why not use a bit of birch from you local wood's ???

I might have a little look round some of the woods see what i can find :)

That site does have some good stuff on it, but minimum order is 30 Euro's plus 10 for shipping and it gets a bit expensive (especially when the blade only cost £7.50!)

Something straight with not too many knot's, thats why I suggested Birch as I've always found it easy to work, and doesn't warp too easily :)

There'll be plenty of pics don't worry :) (even if it goes badly :D ) I doubt i will do my Necker as i like how slim it is, makes it really easy to slip into a pocket/rucksack.

I have fairly small hands which probably helps, it definitely wasn't designed for big hands!

I actually thought i'd lost my Necker until this weekend, couldn't find it anywhere at Uni and i was sure i'd brought it down with me. When i went home i was looking high and low for it, turns out my mum had packed it into a box with a load of other stuff on my desk! phew! Glad to have it back :)

What do you think of this for handle material? Easier than randomly stumbling on a good bit of wood out and about...

Never heard of it before, might be an idea to run it through google just to make sure it's not toxic :)

Apparently when freshly cut it exudes poisonous latex....might not be the best idea, especially if i want to use it for food prep :D
