No worries man.  :tu: Glad I could help.

These are a strange bird, iirc Autumn orange was a +B color, and the run was relatively recent, while the opener is older style. Was autumm orange a color before +B did his run?

If not, it means +B probably dropped.the ball somewhere and left Vic with scales they needed to liquidate.

No, that's not the case.  See back just a few posts.

The +B is sunset orange I think

Ah, I see.  Well I have 2-3 available if anyone missed out.  $20 plus shipping, which includes at least a small donation to Mto.

I don't think my PM worked. If you still have an orange cadet left, I would like to purchase it. Please sent me your PayPal info. Thank you!

Do you have an idea how much it costs to mail a Cadet to your country from the USA?  I have no idea. If you don't mind it will be easier for me to send from Asia in a couple of weeks as I have a good idea of the postal rates from my current home base in Asia.

Cheers.

Necro thread - Sorry Guys
And I hope no-one got too excited about cheap Orange Cadets.

I picked up one of these early last year via this thread and Papercut - Thanks buddy

Was just doing some cataloguing work on my collection over the weekend and noted something interesting.
These knives do not have a 90° lock on the screwdriver.
Also the 'V' in the Victorinox on the Tang stamp is large - indicating a pre-2011 knife? - at least if it was a 91mm.

I bought a red Cadet at the same time - But it had the 90° lock and the smaller V

So these must have been old stock - Anyone know when the half lock came in on the 84mm knives, or when these came out?

Also as a PS:
The Orange on this one is nowhere near as nice as that on those Farmers that were sold recently!!
Is this the one known as 'Autumn Orange'

This may help. Reference the Sak wiki page as well for model numbers.

Hey - Thanks CS - Very quick reply
It looks like 'Autumn Orange' is the closest - So it does look like old stock
Definitely not the orange from the 5 colour LE that came out in 2009 - As mine has a KR

These were originally released in May 2011 for SwissOutpost.

The redesign of the 84mm bottle opener and halfstop came in summer 2012 with the red and black Cadet re-release.

Hey Nicola - Thanks for that link and info - Fascinating thread, and well spotted.

Also a great 'insider' view from Syph.
So a complete re-design of the tool - Not just the half stop but, a longer thick bit on the shank and a new spring to boot.

I did not really want a Cadet
- But bought an orange one when those cheap ones came up, then could not resist a lovely red one, but was thinking of getting rid of one of them.

However, I am interested in different tool designs - so it looks like both will have to stay!!  :D
Phew another purchase post justified

PS I did try to search for this info - But searched on 'screw driver / 84 / half ' as opposed to 'bottle opener / Cadet / half' !!!
