Spirit thread
on: May 21, 2008, 10:32:00 PM
Well I got a new Spirit tonight  :D So I thought we might as well have a thread all about them . Over the next few days I will right a bit of a review on it but for now I'd just like to hear your thoughts on them . I already have my opinion  ;) What we need is a nice big thread with pics for Benner when he gets back from his hols  >:D I wonder how long he will hold out before he gets one .

I think I should be able to whip up a few pics of one :) It really is a great tool, if only for the ergonomics. The tool selection is also pretty darn good! It slips into a pocket without much fuss and the construction is second to none :)

The Spirit is the only plier-based multi I own, and the only one I really need.  The curved handles are comfortable and ergonomic and all the tools have that familiar Victorinox SAK feel.   :climber:

Good on ya for giving the Spirit a second go mate :)

I think the Spirit is the perfect medium sized MT out there, It comfortable, erogonomic, has the most utility per ounce of anytool out there, and it looks stunning to boot...what more could you want :)

Plus it's got a LIFETIME warranty, and exceptional built quality :)

I've got two spirits and think they're of the highest quality. All the sadder when I look at its blade ad think, "Vic, I thought the orange peeler and hook tools were odd in your SAKs, but WTF were you thinking this time??"

ADDENDUM:

Sorry about the rant.  They are of amazing quality and feel like a precision instrument.

Yeah the blade does pretty much divide most people, some love it, some hate it (I'm in this camp) I modded mine in to a lambsfoot, and got ride of the icky serrations (I hate serations as well ::) :D).

I've been carrying  my spirit in lieu of my Charge, and as much as I love my TTi, I can't say the spirit doesn't do anything the charge doesn't.

Truly a great tool.

I dont mind the blade and it is very sharp but its not a good all round blade so best to carry a SAK along with it which I do with any multitool anyway . Cant help posting this pic again but I'm sure someone from Victorinox was reading the book or watching the film when they designed the Spirit  :D

The Spirit is the Rolls Royce of multitools.    It may not have a few of the fancy gadgets found in other tools, but it does what it does with the utmost style and comfort.

I do miss the little screwdriver bit in my charge when I carry the spirit, but besides that, it's my favorite even with the serrated straight razor.    Plain edge it and add a clip and its darn near perfect.
