Donor Victorinox Knives
on: June 02, 2008, 11:36:11 PM
If you've read about the "Kitchen Sink Swiss Army Knife" (KSSAK) project I'm about to embark upon in The Mod Squad, I find myself in need of donor SAKs to try and fulfill the fanciful promises I've made :scared emoticon:

Sooo, I'm after cheap 91mm donor knives, that people won't mind too much if they are smashed to a pulp  Specifically, I'm after some scissors, magnifying glass and whatever I can get really. I already have:

 - Large / Small blades,
 - corkscrew,
 - bottle opener,
 - can opener,
 - rounded phillips,
 - pliers,
 - awl

Scales condition really doesn't matter, what I really want are the plates that seperate the layers and some tools.

If anyone has any SAKs with broken blades but with some tools not listed above intact - I might be able to take 'em off your hands for a few pounds, dollars, or whatever.

I'd maybe also consider trading for a gerber clutch (if I can find it), or maybe even a CRKT Guppie if the deal was right.

Cheers!
I used to come here a lot.

Are Victorinox and Wenger implements interchangeable? Alls I have are Wengers but I would be happy to help you if they'll work for you.

I really have no idea - I suspect not, but hopefully one of the more experienced modders would? Either way, I appreciate the reply spoon - thanks.

Thinking about it, if Webger parts could be modified to fit, that would make it a more "unique" tool - so I hope so!

Check ebay, yesterday I saw someone selling busted SAKs by the pound!  It might still be up there...

- magnifying glass
- fish disgorger

.... if anyone can help.

I'll have a look through my scrap box, I'm sure I can assist so long as they don't have to be pristine :)

Any other implements you need?

Neil
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Neil that would be great!

Basically I'm after anything that will fit in a 91mm knife that isn't on the list up there!

Cheers,

I always keep a box of SAKs for bits.  Looks like you're still missing the saws, fish doodad, mag/phillips layer. I've a couple of beaten up old Champions that should solve most of your wants.  I'm not to sure about a nail file though.  I don't think one from an 84mm Sportsman would sit right even after drilling out the pivot hole for the bigger pins.

Let me have your address and I'll pop them in the post.
