It's always good when a gift giver gives something the recipient actually wants and will appreciate (rather than the all too common "something the giver would like for themselves".  Enjoy  :tu:

The great thing is that you can now kill someone!  :D

Just call the police, say that someone has broken into your house and stolen some of your things, then head out and settle a score with someone.  The police will find the blade at the scene, read the name, come and question you about it and you can refer them to the theft report.  No one will ever figure you'd stab someone with a knife with your name on it!   >:D

I suppose that sounds a bit odd coming from me, although not so much when you learn that I was in jail for about three and a half years.  Of course I was employed there, but I often felt the mindset was the same whether you were wearing white or orange!

Great gift, seems that your girlfriend trusts you enough to actually give you a machete sized knife to carry around

Since she trust me enough to live with me and my guns I guess a big ass knife is not a problem :P

We went for a walk in the woods today so I could try it out and I really love this knife, just need to give it a nice sharp edge.

Please share what you also have recieved this xmas.

Gear wise I got this lot:

The CRKT stuff I got in the forum 'Santa swap'.  Also in there I have my new Diesel (from my wife), a compact Silva compass (from my daughter) and a petrol 'match' (from Santa  ;))

Those petrol matches are actually pretty good as a backup kit. :tu: I have one I filled up a couple of years ago and it still lights. :D If you're searching for something to throw in the bag and forget about it, but have it operational once you need it, it's perfect. And it's still a good sparker if you run out of fuel due to the fero rod.

Plus it was only about £2 so it is hard to complain.  Good point about it working, even without any fuel.  My thought was that it would be much easier to use to light Trangia/alcohol type stoves due to the extra reach over a lighter.  Surprising wind resistant as well.
