Little Boy and Fat Man

Will the little boy cut thru it too like the fat man?  Have you tried it?

Here is a quick in action shot of fat man eating some power wire off a furnace I'm removing from a abandon home.

one bite cuts through all the wire I've tried cutting.

I haven't tried much cutting with my rebar yet. Its cuts coat hanger wire very well
I think it should be almost as good. They all have the same 154cm cutter's.

The long saw on the super tool worked well on PVC pipe. I used it to cut the vent pipe off the furnace I removed. Using it saved me a trip up and down a ladder when I  needed to cut it off and remember I left the sawsall on the ground in the truck.

I'm very happy with how fat man is handling every task I throw at it.

my only gripe about the st300 and rebar is that I have to remove my gloves to get to the drivers, file and saw.

besides that it really is working out great.

besides that it really is working out great.

Yeah I figured that would be an issue this time of year, or if you have to normally wear gloves for your work.  You can get the knives out though no problem right?  I could with my Rebar when I was wearing gloves during wreath season work.

I think its more me that needs to learn to use them but fat man's wire cutters are kinda a bitch to use to strip thin wire.

I use thin two strand wire on water meters

I had to make a short meter wire longer when I removed thawed and replaced a frozen meter.

why don't you use the serrated blade? roll the wire to cut the isolation and then just pull off. it should work

the striper works.
its just touchy

 I like to keep my knives sharp I wouldn't use it to strip wire.

 Also there is a wire striper on the can opener if I need to use it instead.

It will be interesting to see if your Rebar can do all the cutting tasks as the ST300.  That way all of us will know that the Rebar is indeed the ST300 little brother and same thing but in a little smaller package!

I suppose in theory Fat Man's wire cutters should work the same as the ones in the OHT that you were using previously.  I wonder why you're finding these ones less effective at stripping the insulation from wires.  I never actually thought of using them to strip wire myself, because I thought they would just cut straight through the whole thing.     Do you have a Squirt ES4?

I thought about that to. It must have something to do with how big the st300 is. Its alot of tool..

I knew it would happen sooner or later.

the little man is getting a good work out today helping me replace part of my bathroom floor

part of it got wrecked from water damage and had to go.

trailer house crap is held together with staples that were a pain to remove but the little man got the all out or cut them down so I could pound them in

although the hardened steel staples were kinda hard to cut with the rebar with no damage


I also used the serrated blade to cut down linoleum to small chunks to throw away and it did a fine job.

I'm half done and taking a break before I finish.

That's good to hear.  Maybe you should do a couple weeks with the Rebar after you're done with the ST300.  I'd be interested in seeing it put to some work as I know you would do
