I'm going to put the Fat Man away in about a week and be using Little Boy for work and home

anybody got something on the Fat Man they would like me to test before I do.

I have already proven that it is a great work tool but I may have missed something.

another thought

the es4 I call H.J. Has been more than a useful part of my edc . He will be part of this review until its finished. I should have got one long ago. If this review has taught me anything its that the es4 is truly one of the best leatherman tools I've owned. I don't know how I got by without one.

Another unplanned test for the Fat Man.

I drove over him with my mini van at my works gravel parking lot.

no damage.

I thought it messed up the Bo coating but the scratches wiped off. The rock must have left them like chalk

my van was running like crap this morning and I was messing around under the hood.
I used it to remove a few house clamps so I could inspect the Air Filter. It was very dirty so I replaced it and forgot the fat man under the hood.

It must have feel out when I took it for a test drive. only the rear wheel drove over it but I may have drove over it again when I got back. It was pressed into the ground so I know I went over it at lest once. I noticed its absence when I was taken my lunch. I dump all my gear on my kitchen counter when I'm home . I drove like a mad man to go find it and it was just about where I was parked.

I think I got lucky. It was just laying on the ground for anyone to grab for a half hour or so.

Probably good it was a BO tool, wouldn't stick out as much.  Really glad you didn't lose it!

He sure does Steve. I'd be very upset if I lost him.

I learned something today

battery acid will remove black oxide coating.

I used my file yesterday on some battery connections cleaning them up.

Well I just put the fat man away and pulled out all my gear from the skinith.

I'm going to finish this review up using the little boy.

thoughts

I can do no more to the fat man to prove he's a great tool. Its been proven to me.  :multi:

I prefer my st 300 to a swisstool but I prefer the Swisstool spirit to my rebar.

we will see if that changes after I use him more.

I'm going to ditch the ratchet, bits, and croc to lighten my edc. I was gifted a leatherman bit adaptor kit I will use in place of the ratchet and bits . I'm not sure what I will replace the croc with. A 4 inch crescent wrench or maybe a Gerber shard or something else. again we will see.
the es4 aka Honest John will be coming along. I like that little guy to much to leave him behind.

the little boy will be working his butt off this summer. I'm not sure if he's up to it or not.

Only one way to know for sure.

it should be interesting.

I think I am going to break it.

I normally wouldn't take this small of a tool to work.

I love the Rebar but it remains to be seen if it can handle the abuse. It's a lot smaller and I fear its implements may not hold up to as much stress.

That's what I worry about as well.  While it is likely a tough little tool, I'm not sure how much hard use it was designed to handle...

Little boy just got his first use at work. Pulling coder pins
 it worked just fine.

I feel 10 pounds lighter.

I do miss my skinith though. I feel like I should be back on edcf with my loaded pockets lol.

PS edcf sucks

The little boy worked out ok one his first day at work

although it was a easy day.

I was putting down plastic in a home thats going on display most of the day.

he cut a bunch of plastic, pulled a few staples, cut some carpet"to make door stops" tightened a few screws on a door frame and I used the wire cutters on some hard plastic straps that hold appliance doors closed.

all and all a good first day.

If you were able to cut carpet with it then that says a lot for the thin blades :tu:

I thought it was a good test.

The serrated blade made quick work cutting doubled up carpet. :tu:

 It also held its edge.
The blade is a little short for my liking but worked well.

I can use it hard because I got a spare :)

I'm going to try push this tool to its limits without breaking it.

I hope I don't. I really like my Bo rebar.

I found I could no longer carry both my MP600 and Rebar, it was just too much weight. So... I will now be alternating between the two. Currently it's the MP600 but I'll definitely be carrying the Rebar some days. I wear shorts (I live in Florida) with side pockets all year round so I use all pockets for my various gear. Whereas, you use a skinth, I just find pockets better to evenly distribute the weight.

Il be in cargo pants all summer. My edc gets heavier the more pockets I have to put stuff in.
