Vic SAK lot of 7 includes 3 combo tools

this lot doesn't look like anything special at first, but if you look through the pics, you'll see that of the 7 SAKs, three of them have combo tools.

I have no idea how high the auction will go, but it's currently at $16.38 with ~22 hours remaining.

Yes, but the 3 combo tool knives are 84mm and most mod's work better with a full size combo tool from a 91mm knife.

So, at the risk of learning something ... What makes them inadequate? I've been wondering if it would be better to have a custom made with a combo tool instead of a bottle opener and can opener.

The 84mm sits too low in the 91mm frame. Hard to get out.

That just makes the 84mm too small for a 91 or 93mm ... guess I don't see how that makes them inadequate. Unless of course the person was going to use them as spare parts to mod a 91/93mm

yes, the 91/93 mods is what makes the combo tool not as good. The cheapest 91mm combo tool comes from the Compact, and $30 isn't exactly cheap.
