Damascus OH Soldier $250?
on: December 25, 2013, 01:07:15 PM
I see the Damascus OH Soldier being dumped for $250.  What is up with that?  Is it a poor quality knife?  Overproduced?

A good buy?

I have it at 245 with free shipping in my shipping cart. I can't quite pull the trigger. Too rich for my blood atm. That may change in a few months, but not yet!

Yeah I noticed these going for cheap too. Everyone goes gaga over the alox version but they can't give away the 111mm

Id love to get my hands on one of the blades, for my own build with alox scales, but still too steep at $250.  At $150 though I'd bite.  :D

$250 is a great and kind of bottom price for these. Vic made too many of them and there are too many left, stores try to clear up old stock and this explains what happens. Once the original new stock will be exhausted then after a while likely their price will start climbing.

I'd say that the chance of receiving one for free as a gift is greater than finding one to buy, new and undamaged, at $150 :D

If anyone is looking for one and finds it at $250 including shipping, by all means, go for it. Just watch out for those shipping options that make the final price jump $50 (still a good deal) or $100 (not so much).

The only one with prices going up all the time is the pioneer.

I had the chance to get one a few months ago, from the dealer, and thought 300Euro was way too much...

I assume the pioneer Damascus craze will soon move to the other Damascus models....

It is funny that the high cost for these "limited" models is blamed on the Damascus blade so in theory the soldier with its large blade requires 3, 4 times the amount of Damascus metal so it should have been the most expensive..   ???

It seems to have been a private sale, and they are all sold out. Swisstool Spirit X are $46 though, which is insane.  Just picked up 2 more lol.

I picked one up another one for my G10 conversion series; $226, I'm happy with that price.
