@Aloha007

Those Lincolns are beautiful for sure.    :)

Wasn't there also a presidential Lincoln around for some time?

Were you reading my mind on the Messerschmitt?    :o

I was just planning to do a post on it.    :)

So here you go:

Another funny little car, the Messerschmitt KR200, or Kabinenroller (Cabin Scooter), was a three-wheeled bubble car designed by the aircraft engineer Fritz Fend and produced in the factory of the German aircraft manufacturer Messerschmitt from 1955 to 1964.

Approximately 40.000 were built from 1956-1964.

I saw quite some of them when I went to Germany and Holland back in the 60s and 70s.

here is a neat link http://auto.howstuffworks.com/1963-1970-lincoln-limousine2.htm

That limo is on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn MI.  It's the first thing you see when you walk through the front door, along with Teddy Roosevelt's carriage and the limo Reagan was entering when he was shot.

Citroen Mehari. I loved how the doors had locks but the windows were made of soft plastic, a fingernail could cut through them.

Another microcar, the Fiat 500, commonly known as "Topolino", is an Italian automobile model manufactured by Fiat from 1936 to 1955.
The name "Topolino" translates literally as "little mouse" in Italian, but is also the Italian name for Mickey Mouse.

The Topolino was one of the smallest cars in the world at the time of its production. Launched in 1937, three models were produced until 1955, all with only minor mechanical and cosmetic changes.

I'm quite fond of microcars, mainly because there basically scooters underneath, so you get all the virtues of cheap reliable motoring, but with a roof :D

Back in the early 1970s one of my acquaintances drove around in a what I found at the time to be a splendid car: the Volvo P1800

Only about 48.000 were ever built.

What about an Autobianchi A112 Abarth?

My aunt had one of these. Great rides, until I got taller.

About that A112 that was very popular in Greece (a pocket GTi), there was a popular song in the '80s, still remembered, saying : "I won't do it again inside an Autobianchi".
Do what? Come on, you know what! The song was about a couple of youngsters, facing the claustrophobic reactions when they attempted to do it inside that mini car. The clutch was a major obstacle according to the song. :)

I remember many Volkswagen Kübelwagens leftovers of WWII in my youth ('70s). Now it is rare but the Beetle still hits the roads and this is a great accomplishement.

I particularly like the Schwimmwagen

British Reliant Robins, built also under licence by MEBEA in Greece, 1974-1978

Fiberglass broke easily and turns where quite dangerous, but it helped a lot of budget restricted people those days, during the petrol crisis.

It could be that I saw a few of them in the Netherlands, where they were known as Bambino it seems.
